Volunteers at the 2025 Bank of America Chicago 13.1

Be a part of the fifth annual Bank of America Chicago 13.1 by volunteering on race day! The course will weave through the historic parks and boulevards of Chicago’s West Side, starting and finishing in Garfield Park. We invite you to join our volunteer team as we turn the streets of the West Side Chicago into a race course for thousands of participants! Individual volunteer opportunities are listed below.

All volunteers must register online individually by Sunday, May 31, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Central Time.

Course Marshal

Course marshals ensure the course stays clear of spectator and vehicle traffic, and act as a source of information about the event and surrounding area. Course marshals will check in at Garfield Park and will be transported to their assigned post along the course in each of the following neighborhoods: Garfield Park, Humboldt Park and Douglass Park.

  • Date: Sunday, June 7
  • Age minimum: 18 years of age

Finish line

Join the excitement at the finish line! Volunteers will have the opportunity to congratulate runners as they distribute items at the finish line, such as food, water, Nuun Hydration or iced towels.

  • Shift: Sunday, June 7
  • Age minimum: 14 years of age

Information Team

Assist race participants, spectators and other volunteers by providing general information, answering questions about the event and giving directions to key destinations in Garfield Park.

  • Date: Sunday, June 7
  • Age minimum: 18 years of age

Start Corrals

Join the excitement at the start line by regulating access to the start corrals and assisting with the forward progress of participants through the corrals.

  • Date: Sunday, June 7
  • Age minimum: 14 years of age
