COURSE RECORDS FALL AT THE THIRD ANNUAL BANK OF AMERICA CHICAGO 13.1
A sold-out field of 10,000 participants gathered under clear skies for the third annual Bank of America Chicago 13.1. With community-focused wellness events on Saturday and a half marathon course that traced through Garfield, Douglass and Humboldt Parks on Sunday, the event welcomed participants of all ages and abilities to run on Chicago’s West Side. Peter Njeru and Joyline Chemutai broke the tape in the professional men’s and women’s running open divisions, respectively. Daniel Romanchuk continued his undefeated streak with his third Bank of America Chicago 13.1 victory in the wheelchair competition. Caleb-Michael Files claimed victory in the non-binary competition.

BANK OF AMERICA CHICAGO 13.1 RECEIVES EVERGREEN CERTIFICATION FROM THE COUNCIL FOR RESPONSIBLE SPORT
The Bank of America Chicago 13.1 and Council for Responsible Sport announced today the event earned Evergreen Certification, a recognition reserved for sporting events that demonstrate the highest possible commitment to environmental and social responsibility. The Chicago 13.1 debuted in 2022 with the vision to reimagine what running can be in Chicago, offering a weekend of health-and wellness-based activities for participants and community members on Chicago’s West Side.

THOUSANDS TOUR CHICAGO’S WEST SIDE AT THE SECOND ANNUAL BANK OF AMERICA CHICAGO 13.1
Beneath sunny skies, a sold-out field of 8,000 participants gathered on Chicago’s West Side for the second annual Bank of America Chicago 13.1. The 2023 event built on the vision to reimagine what running can be in Chicago with a mix of wellness activities and entertainment for participants and community members. Reed Fischer and Diane Nukuri broke the tape in the elite men’s and women’s running open divisions, respectively.  Three-time winner of the Bank of America Chicago Marathon, Daniel Romanchuk, and 2022 Bank of America Chicago Marathon winner and Paralympic gold medalist, Susannah Scaroni won the wheelchair division races for the second year in a row. Steven Bugarin claimed victory in the non-binary competition.

THOUSANDS OF RUNNERS CROSS THE FINISH LINE IN THE INAUGURAL BANK OF AMERICA CHICAGO 13.1
Beneath an overcast sky and under nearly ideal race conditions, thousands of runners gathered on Chicago’s West Side to run the inaugural Bank of America Chicago 13.1. Starting and finishing in Garfield Park, runners toured Humboldt and Douglass Parks while traversing the neighborhoods that line the city’s historic boulevards. John Dressel and Carrie Verdon broke the tape in the elite men’s and women’s running competitions, while three-time winner of the Bank of America Chicago Marathon, Daniel Romanchuk, and Paralympic gold medalist and 5,000m world record holder, Susannah Scaroni. won the wheelchair races.

BANK OF AMERICA CHICAGO 13.1 EVENTS SCHEDULE & MEDIA CREDENTIALS
The newest addition to Chicago’s premier racing portfolio, the Bank of America Chicago 13.1 will debut next weekend. On Sunday, June 5, thousands of runners are expected to take part in this unique racing experience that will bring a world-class running event to the historic parks and boulevards of Chicago’s West Side. The 13.1-mile course will start and finish in Garfield Park, the oldest park on the West Side, and travel through Humboldt and Douglass Parks while traversing the neighborhoods that line the boulevards connecting all three parks.

THE CHICAGO RUNNING COMMUNITY PREPARES TO REIMAGINE THE RUN AT THE INAUGURAL BANK OF AMERICA CHICAGO 13.1
The team behind the Bank of America Chicago Marathon and Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle and the Chicago running community are gearing up for the debut of the newest addition to the city’s premier racing portfolio, the Bank of America Chicago 13.1. On Sunday, June 5, more than 6,000 runners are expected to take part in this unique racing experience that will bring a world-class running event to the historic parks and boulevards of Chicago’s West Side. Leading the way on a course starting and finishing in Garfield Park is a field of talented elite athletes including three-time Bank of America Chicago Marathon champion Daniel Romanchuk and former Olympian Diane Nukuri.

REGISTRATION FOR THE INAUGURAL BANK OF AMERICA CHICAGO 13.1 LAUNCHES TODAY

Today the teams behind the Bank of America Chicago Marathon and Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle announce the launch of registration for the 2022 Bank of America Chicago 13.1. The newest addition to Chicago’s premier racing portfolio brings a world-class half marathon and three-day health and wellness festival to Chicago’s West Side. Runners are encouraged to sign up early to secure their spot in the 10,000-person race set for Sunday, June 5.
