ELITE START
The Elite start is positioned at the front of the field and designed to recognize the top entrants in the 2024 Bank of America Chicago 13.1.
- Every athlete who competes in the elite start must strictly adhere to the rules, regulations and anti-doping processes set forth by World Athletics to be eligible for prize money.
- Men in the elite corral must be capable of running a 5:15/mile pace and women must be capable running a 6:15/mile pace.
- Participants must provide proof of qualification (event name, date, distance and finishing time) at the point of registration or by email to elitecorral@chicago13point1.com.
- You must provide proof that you have run this pace in a prior event. Proof must be in the form of a link to your online race results or an uploaded finisher’s certificate.
- Results must be from any race of a distance no less than 10K completed on or after January 1, 2022 and must show a finishing time that meets the minimum pace requirements as listed above.
- Proof must be submitted no later than May 1, 2024.
- All athletes in the elite start are subject to drug testing by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA). Participants must read a Notification of USADA Drug Testing and must electronically sign a Consent to Doping Control. Failure to sign the consent will result in the participant being removed from the elite start.
- Any athlete who receives or has received a doping ban in the past, including those who have been reinstated after a period of ineligibility, will not be eligible to receive prize money or awards.
- Athletes in the elite start must abide by all rules of competition set forth by World Athletics and USATF.
